The Swiss public prosecutors office has announced today that the final outstanding investigation into Yves Bouviers business dealings with Dmitry Rybolovlev has been closed.

According to the official press release:

The Public Prosecutor's Office closed the procedure for the first time on September 15, 2021 on the grounds that the elements constituting the offenses had not been fulfilled and that a procedure, relating to the same facts, had been carried out in Monaco. In a ruling dated 26 July 2022, the Criminal Appeal Division of the Court of Justice overturned this decision and referred the case back to the Public Prosecutor's Office to resume the investigation. Following this ruling, the Public Prosecutor's Office conducted a number of hearings, which did not provide any evidence to raise sufficient suspicion against the defendants.

Since starting legal action against Bouvier in 2015, all nine of the court cases filed by Mr. Rybolovlev in Singapore, Hong Kong, New York, Monaco and Geneva have been discontinued by the authorities.

The parties have reached a confidential settlement concerning all their disputes that involved proceedings in various jurisdictions. They have no claims against each other and will refrain from commenting on their past disputes.

In response to the clearing of his name, Mr Bouvier said:

"Today marks the end of a nine-year nightmare. Courts all around the world have now unanimously concluded that I was innocent. I am immensely grateful to my family, friends, lawyers, advisers and all the people who believed in me and helped me to clear my name. I also want to thank the judicial and law enforcement authorities in all countries who have allowed true justice to run its course.

David Bitton, a lawyer for Mr Bouvier in Geneva, stated that:

"All the allegations against Mr Bouvier were set aside by prosecutors around the world, and not a single court agreed to open a proper trial to review the accusations. This is a complete victory for my client. I want to thank all the lawyers throughout the world who stubbornly fought for justice and successfully defended the innocence of Mr Bouvier.
