However, new technology has seen the development of what are known as lab grown diamonds that are produced at a fraction of the cost of those produced by mother nature & are virtually indistinguishable from them. The demand for these has gained significant momentum since production of gem quality LAB grown diamonds started just over ten years ago and there are no signs of this abating.”
LAB grown diamonds, also known as LAB created diamonds or man-made diamonds, are grown in highly controlled laboratory environments using advanced technology processes that duplicate the conditions under which diamonds have naturally developed over millions of years beneath the earth’s crust. These LAB created diamonds consist of actual carbon atoms arranged in the characteristic diamond structure. Since they are made of the same material asmother earth diamonds, they exhibit virtually the same optical and chemical properties.
No human, no matter how experienced in diamonds can distinguish the difference between a LAB grown diamond or a mined diamond.
